Thank you very much for visiting my writing corner.
My hometown, Trieste, is known as a city of writers, and it’s there that I discovered my love for writing at a very early age. Friends have always recognized me by the pen or pencil and small notebook I carry with me— a habit I’ve remained faithful to even today. Over the years, I’ve found a rewarding balance between writing and my work in theatre.

I particularly enjoy writing dialogue and have had the opportunity to bring several of my plays to the stage. For over twenty years, I’ve also been writing for the radio—an experience I find especially delightful. Listeners often describe it as a revelation to experience how spoken words alone can conjure vivid imagery.

I also take great interest in adapting novels and films for the stage. Some examples include the monologue And Then She’ll Understand by Claudio Magris, staged at the Slovenian Theatre in Trieste; the adaptation of Maja Haderlap’s novel Angel of Oblivion for the National Theatre DRAMA Ljubljana; and Anomalies, a stage adaptation of three short stories by Italian writer Mauro Covacich for Il Rossetti theatre. To celebrate Fellini’s centenary, I adapted the screenplay of And the Ship Sails On for the Italian Theatre in Rijeka, Croatia.

Since 2019, I’ve been writing a biweekly column titled Boksarska vreča (Punching Bag), published in the minority newspaper Primorski dnevnik.
While I also write longer pieces, I have a special fondness for short stories—they feel like sketches in words. I especially enjoy stories with surreal twists, where a slight shift in logic turns everyday life upside down. I often pair my writing with drawing. Both of my books are illustrated with my own artwork. Drawing sharpens my sense of observation, and sometimes a single detail can spark an entire story.

A story can be written as a dialogue.
A story can take shape as a short story or a novel.
A story can be heard on the radio.
And sometimes, I get to bring it to the stage.
